In this week's blog, we're going to be featuring Meagan and Andrew's cozy wedding weekend at a bed & breakfast in Tybee Island, Georgia. Their beautiful pictures are just what we needed to lift up our spirits in this winter weather!
How did you and your husband meet?
We met at a casino! I was bartending during nursing school and he has a knack for playing poker. He definitely played his cards right!
How did he pop the question? Were you surprised?
Yes I was very surprised! We took our annual Christmas vacation to Florida and he popped the question on a late night stroll on the beach with a big bright full moon as a back drop.
Where did you tie the knot?
We tied the knot in Tybee Island, Georgia. A small island off the coast of Savannah. Beautiful sprawling beaches with a small town feel. We had the ceremony on the beach near the sand dunes with a short walk back to the Beachview Bed & Breakfast where the reception was held. We rented out the entire B&B in which the bridal party resided during the festivities. It was special having everyone together in one place for the weekend. The owner, Karen, and her daughter, Wendy, are just the greatest. They made us feel so at ease and well taken care of. Couldn't have asked for better hospitality.
What made you choose AMY O for your special day?
I had chosen a lace dress with an open back and really wanted something to accentuate that. Amy O. Bridal had just what I was looking for! It was a plus that everything was so customizable; I was able to create the look that I dreamed of!
What was one of the most memorable moments from your wedding day?
The most memorable moment was walking down the beach towards my husband to be. It was picturesque, the sun, the water and the breeze. It had all come together and in that moment I felt complete peace.
Did you go on a honeymoon? If so, where to?
We did not go on a honeymoon immediately after. We did however have an extended stay at the beach. Planning on a honeymoon later this year in Costa Rica!
Any advice for future brides?
My best advice for future brides is to make it a point to stay mindful on the day of. Do not let yourself get caught up in what needs to be done because everything has a way of falling into place. Stay present and enjoy every single moment! Believe me it flies by.
